Head Teacher Welcome

Welcome to our new, much improved website, I hope it provides a flavour of what our academy is about; a school community striving hard to achieve the best outcomes for its young people through developing a culture of respect, determination and kindness that permeates everything we do.

There has never been a more exciting time to become a member of our school community as we continue to develop the quality of the education that every young person will experience.  High expectations and belief that every child can achieve are at the forefront of our vision to provide an excellent learning experience for everyone in an academy of which we can all be proud to belong.

Mrs Denise Burrows

In a difficult year of change to the exams in many subjects at post-16 we are really pleased to see our results remaining strong at post-16, even outperforming national figures for A*-E.

A* 3%
A*-A 17%
A*-B 38%
A*-E 100%

In terms of applied and BTEC courses, we maintained our 100% pass rate from last year. Special mention should go to Health and Social Care, where all 3 of the students completing the BTEC Extended Diploma achieved D*D*D* (the very best possible grade).

Students performing particularly well include:

Curtis Miles who achieved an A in photography and a D*D in Art and Design

Matthew McCrindle who achieved 3 A grades in maths, biology and chemistry

Paulina Fabisz with an A* in Fine Art, B in textiles and B in sociology

Jack Matharu achieved an A in maths, B in biology and a B in chemistry

Sophie Ord with an A in Psychology, B in maths and a B in chemistry

Alice Lowe achieved an A in psychology, B in biology and a B in geography

Well done and thank you to all the staff who have supported our post-16 students to achieve these grades and of course to the students for working hard and getting the grades they deserve.
